Occupy Wallstreet Movement (aka American Autumn) Occupies Oakland (Downtown, Ports)

Good day FoodSports,

This is a late breaking!  FoodSports Occupies Oakland, Downtown and Ports!  It is the American Autumn and we are on the move.  Now, all anarchists and rebel rowsers please refrain from the destruction of property and trashing of streets ... we want a peaceful, clean protest for the people and by the people.

And for those in the dark still wondering what this protest is all about, what do these people aim to accomplish - well, for one thing as fellow protestor JB says 'bandwith'.  This is about justice more than anything; social, economic, political, judicial, environmental.  It is about respect and dignity, human rights and humanity.  So please, for all of those still confused ... i will post more information, especially upon request.  But, one thing i am calling for is to rescind a supreme court ruling last year which allowed for anonymous donations to congress!!!  Holly FUCK! ... do you all realize how are politicians, policy makers and shapers of our country  are paid off daily by the BILLIONS from private interest groups!!!  The Financial Institutions alone have gicven up to $2.3 BILLION in private contributions to congress!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!! Come on man, that is not to be fair and just toward Americans ... this is a FUCKING blatant pay-off!!!  And that goes with Agriculture, Energy, and many other big hitters in our economy, in our lives - often a small group of people paying off our elected officials to get their way.  ...

Ok, i am not the best speaker on the matter ... but i do know some things, and I ask all to look and listen.  This is not about hate, this is about fairness, equality, real opportunity that this fucking country was supposedly founded on!!! This is about leveling the playing field ... and guess what, maybe we all can get our basic needs met! ... anyway, personally again, i would like a lot more transparency ... i like fellow opinionator Thomas Friedman's statement in his recent op-ed piece 'Did You Hear the One About the Bankers' (which i am taking a lot of my steam from at the moment) - that members in congress should be dressed up like Nascar racers with all their corporate sponsors written over their suits! ...

Anyway, the list goes on ... and the fight is more subtle and complex and global and personal.  Here are some pics from a great day of protest that unfortunately turned a little sour later that night, but mostly it was all peaceful, civil and celebratory!  For those who dont know much about the movement and the day, basically all of downtown oakland was overtaken by protestors up and down the streets for about a 10 block radius, marching to banks in the area, speakers talking in front of the city hall, etc.  Now of course not all of the protestors are on the same page persay or have the same message but i think more than anything it was an expression of democracy, of people voicing themselves in a public arena or forum to get themselves heard and maybe make a difference ... at least to tell their story and affect others perhaps by it ... the teachers union marched, grandmothers marched, their were nurses and firefighters showing support ... old, young, black, white ... thousands and thousands of people out all day to show support for a movement gaining momentum perhaps ...  so anyway here are some pictures:

i will get back to you on more foodsports related activity ... but for now just a moment to acknowledge a great day of protesting, marching, mingling and enjoying a somewhat nascent part of our country's democratic espousements.

More later.
